MOAPF 2017 1000x1700

The Monash One Act Play Festival is the last in the year, after a calendar of one act play festivals held throughout Victoria. Hosted by Peridot Theatre Company at our Unicorn Theatre in Mount Waverley, the Monash attracts strong entries from throughout Victoria, and often interstate.
This time of year is an opportunity for performers to meet and mingle with new talent, and to catch up with old friends. It's also a fantastic weekend of polishing theatrical crafts and creating ongoing relationships with actors, directors, playwrights and audiences.
The Monash One Act Play Festival is not only about the many glittering awards and cash prizes, it is also a chance to see new works written and performed by emerging theatre-makers, all while partaking in treats from our comfortable cafe and catching up on the year's gossip.

This year, our adjudicator will be Susan Rundle. Susan began her performing career as a dancer, before studying drama at Canterbury University and with renowned NZ actress and director, the late Elizabeth Moody. Susan has been involved in more than 50 productions in both NZ and Australia as an actor, choreographer and director; directing more than 15 productions that include musicals, dramas, comedies, classics and new works. Susan has had the opportunity to direct three VDL Award entry plays that resulted in nomination for Best Director, 7 nominations in actor/actress categories and 2 Best Actress awards. Susan has regularly been involved in one act play festivals over the past 6 years, primarily as a director, receiving the Best Director Award at the Mount Players Annual One Act Play Festival in 2013. She is also co-adjudicating for Eltham Little Theatre’s 2016 and 2017 seasons and is the current Vice-President of The Victorian Drama League. Susan is honoured to be asked and to have this opportunity to adjudicate for the 2017 Monash One Act Play Festival.
