A Chorus of Disapproval
Few playwrights have delighted audiences with such inventive and original comedies as Alan Ayckbourn. This multi award winning comedy follows the trials and tribulations of an amateur operatic society. Guy Jones having been recently widowed decides to audition for a local production of “The Beggars Opera” as a means to overcome his loneliness. Unable to say no to any outrageous proposal, he finds himself promoted from a walk on role to that of leading man and as a result finds himself hopelessly entangled in a series of romantic dalliances and the subject of endless gossip.
